San Juan Area
food
Cocina al Fondo - James Beard Award winning restaurant, ambiance is incredible, food even more. Make reservations through WhatsApp. Parking is street parking which can be a little tricky so allow for extra time.
Lala - Located in the Mall of San Juan, dining at Lala is an experience. Bad Bunny developed the concept. Parking is in the mall parking garage.
La Casita Blanca - Speaking of Bad Bunny, this is one of his favorites and fans have made it a hot spot. Get there early.
Bayamon
Amici - The best Neapolitan pizza and a super fun environment. The cocktails are insanely good.
Caminito - Argentinian food at its finest. lots of messi futbol gear too.
Vega Baja / Manati
food
Tortuguera Bar BQ - our favorite cafeteria. super easy to run in and get food to go. There are tables if you want to eat in, as well.
El Tren de Cano - Another favorite. We like to eat lunch here. Get the carne guisada or skirt steak.
Costa Azul - A little fancier than the first two. Good meal for the price.
Zenen Pizza - Super fun, outdoor seating. This is technically in Barcoleneta.
La cueva del tibu - 10/10 recommend. A bit of windy roads up to Ciales but 100% worth it. Sit outside and hear the coqui.
Los Balcones 149 - Remember windy roads? This is a bit windier but 100% worth it. Plenty of easy parking and the views are incredible. Get there before sunset.
Atenas Bakery - Hamon y queso anyone? The best and super convenient.
beaches
you have to go if you are nearby. one of the most iconic beaches. swimming can be tricky because there are rocks as you enter the water. swim shoes would help.
Puerto Nuevo
the best beach in PR. there is a large parking lot (I think its $5 to park) but also street parking available. Extremely calm waters and lots of food trucks nearby for drinks + snacks.
Playa Los Tubos
absolutely stunning beach. it does have more waves than Puerto Nuevo but its one of my favorites.
Everything Rincon
food
The Beach House - Super fun, great views, fun environment. If you are in Rincon, you gotta go.
Capriccio Trattoria - This was OK. Italian food and hard to mess up pasta in my opinion. Very clean, nice environment. We would go again.
Taqueria Vatos Locos - You must go. Great environment. Wear a jacket, its cold in there. Margaritas are amazing.
The English Rose - 100% best place in Rincon. The view is spectacular. We went from brunch. Drive seems a little sketchy because it is up a hill and one lane.
Alma - Another great experience. Great views - get there before sunset.
Casa Islena - I mean, I can't say enough about this place. Great views - literally on the beach.
Pa'l 22 - Went in with low standards and left thinking it may have been the best authentic PR food in Rincon.
Ricomini - Our every morning stop for pan de sobao and quesitos.
Villa Cofresi - We didn't eat but went for evening drinks. This is a resort but easy parking.
Simply Greens - Great acai bowls and coffee!
beaches
Los Alemendros - A hidden gem. Very little parking but you have to go. Great beach - look out for the sea turtle nests! :)
Tres Hermanos - Another hidden gem. There are two parking areas - one by the police station and one closer to the camping area. Park at either and just walk from one end of the beach to the other.
Playa Buye - This is the best beach. It wasn't far away from our Airbnb and the water is absolutely stunning. We paid $10 for parking.
Railway - I think they recommend not to swim in this water because of sea urchins but it is a gorgeous beach. I'd recommend to go in the morning. Street parking.
Sandy Beach - Beaches in Rincon are great for surfers so this water is a little more rough. But stunning, a lot of fun and a must-see while in Rincon.
Steps Beach - Same as above. Plus the iconic steps.
Domes Beach - Same as above. Plus a really gorgeous skyline with the famous "dome" in the background.
